All trains departing from London Euston to Liverpool Lime Street have been suspended due to a “major fault in the signaling system in the Stafford area”. Many Avanti West Coast routes are affected, including journeys to and from Manchester, Liverpool, Scotland and North Wales. The company urged people not to attempt travel for the remainder of the day (Friday, November 21).

Avanti West Coast posted an update on social media saying: “Departures from London Euston have been suspended due to a major fault in the signaling system in the Stafford area. This affects multiple Avanti West Coast routes, including journeys to and from Manchester, Liverpool, Scotland and North Wales. Please do not attempt to travel as major disruption is expected until the end of the day.”
