Netizens react furiously as Vicky Kaushal reportedly aims to quit non-veg, alcohol for Lord Parashurama film Mahavatar

Vicky Kaushal will be playing Lord Parashurama in the mythological epic film Mahavatar. According to the latest reports, Amar Kaushik is preparing to quit non-veg products and alcohol for his film. However, netizens are trolling the actor mercilessly for this decision.

After the blockbuster success of Chhaava, Vicky Kaushal is all set to collaborate with Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films again for Mahavatar, the mythological epic based on Lord Parashurama. The highly anticipated film was announced in November 2024 and will be directed by Amar Kaushik, who has previously directed Stree 2, Stree, Bala and Bhediya.
According to the latest reports, Vicky and Amar have decided to give up alcohol and non-veg products for Mahavatar. A source was quoted as telling Bollywood Hungama, “A film like Mahavatar requires complete focus and the duo has decided to give it their all to make the film a pure spectacle for the theatre-going audience. They have decided to ditch non-veg food and will start their preparations for the film with a grand pooja ceremony towards the middle of next year.”
“Though Amar had already given up his eating habits, Vicky decided to do so after the shooting of Love and War wrapped. It’s a way of paying homage to his role as Lord Parashurama,” the source added. It was also shared that Mahavatar, which was announced to be released on Christmas 2026, has been postponed and will now be released in 2028.
When the same portal shared the news about X, netizens reacted angrily to it, with many saying that the actors should focus on making good movies instead of making this drama. One user Read another comment: “Stop having sex too. Can they do that? No, then stop with your fake bullshit.”

Meanwhile, Vicky Kaushal will be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s romantic drama Love & War, which also stars Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. The film is scheduled to release on March 20, 2026, but according to the latest reports, it may be postponed and shifted to August 14 next year for an Independence Day release.
