“To reach net zero by 2045, we need a stronger focus on cleaner transport, greater electrification and building improvements, increasing the contribution of our trees and soil to carbon storage, and stronger actions to prevent and reduce waste. For unavoidable emissions, we may need to offset these by supporting high-integrity activities that remove carbon elsewhere,” the strategy said.
