Brisbane Lions toast of the town, Geelong Cats commiserate
Brisbane Lions coach Chris Fagan said that this year’s victory was sweeter than 2024, because it was how hard it was to go one after the other.
He addressed the crowd and said that the team only learned Geelong from the loss of Geelong weeks ago and took advantage of “courage and durability”.

“From this perspective, all obstacles we had to overcome this year to reach that point yesterday – even the fact that Geelong beat us three weeks ago – they could turn the tables upside down.”
When asked about the Dual Norm Smith medal Will Ashcroft, Fagan joke that he could be a football in his hands.
“I think at the beginning of a training game this year, some Gold Coast Suns players said,“ A little Flack has copied Flack. [have]Norm Smith medal or win? Now it’s two years in a row, it’s great, Fag Fagan said.
