Newlywed Woman Killed, Husband Injured In Madhapur Mishap

According to Abdul Bakanh, father-in-law of victim Hania Ayesha, his son Abdul Majeed and Ayesha were returning home on their bike after watching a movie in Kukatpally when a mini truck (KA05 AL 6042) hit their vehicle and dragged it for more than five kilometres. Ayesha, a native of Kerala, suffered fatal injuries.

In the complaint, Simpleh said that Ayesha was taken to the hospital where the doctor on duty declared her dead. Majeed had fractures to his left hand and other injuries.

After the incident, citizens chased the truck and stopped it. While the driver managed to escape, the crowd caught up with the cleaner, attacked him and handed him over to the police.

Police said the victim’s husband worked as an export executive in a gold and jewelery company. The couple got married in their hometown on November 23, 2025 and lived in Jubilee Hills.

The victim’s body was taken to the Gandhi Hospital morgue and handed over to his family after the autopsy. The police registered a case of death due to rash and careless driving and seized the vehicle involved.

Farmer electrocuted in Patimatla

Domda Komuraiah, a 58-year-old farmer, died of electrocution at Patimatla village in Mothkur mandal of Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district on Saturday.

Komuraiah reportedly came into contact with a live electrical wire while operating the borehole starter in the agricultural area on the outskirts of the village. Other farmers tried to save him but failed.

Mothkur police arrived at the scene upon being informed and took the body to Thungathurthy Government Hospital for autopsy.

Newly married woman died by suicide

A newly married woman died by suicide in Kalleda village of Aloor mandal on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Akhila, a native of Anksapur who married Srikanth on March 5.

The police were informed after he was found dead in his mother-in-law’s house. His father Hanmandlu and other family members reached the village and expressed shock over his death. The family alleged that Akhila was being harassed by her mother-in-law.

The exact cause of the suicide has not yet been determined.

Police took the body to Nizamabad Government Hospital for post-mortem.

Makloor police have registered a case and are investigating.

Woman alleges forced conversion and gang rape

The city resident filed a complaint at Begumpet police station, accusing her husband and father-in-law of forced conversion, gang rape, blackmail and abuse.

Speaking to the media on Sunday, the victim said she met the accused in May 2021 when he approached her shop for business. “He claimed he converted to gain my trust,” he claimed. “Then on July 28, he forced me to convert. The victim alleged that she was drugged and gang-raped at her home in Begumpet on the first night of her marriage last year. Later, after moving to Panjagutta, her husband allegedly blackmailed and blackmailed her and her mother, collected more than ₹16.7 lakh and mortgaged the gold.

She also accused her husband and his family of constant physical violence, oppression and harassment, including forcing her to consume beef even though she was a vegetarian, forcing her to have an abortion, and restricting her worship. “They imprisoned me, tranquilized me and took away my phones,” he said. She claimed that in August, the defendant’s uncle forced her to recite scripture verses and changed her name again.

Begumpet station house officer P. Saidulu said: Deccan Chronicle: “We have recorded the victim’s statement in the presence of woman police personnel. She is traumatized. We have sent her to a Bharosa center for counselling. Cases of gang rape, blackmail, threats, extortion, forced conversion, harassment, hurting religious sentiments, cheating, illegal confinement and abuse have been recorded.”

The case, which was earlier related to Kukatpally police, has now been transferred to Begumpet. “After recording the victim’s statement, we registered a fresh FIR. Three special teams have been formed to identify and arrest those responsible for this brutal act,” Saidulu added.

Two youths from AP died in road accident in Telangana

Two youths from Andhra Pradesh died on the spot at Gandlagudem in Aswaraopeta mandal of Bhadradri-Kothagudem district on Sunday.

The deceased were identified as Madakam Santhosh (19) and Pandu Sandeep (20), natives of Thatiranugudem in Jeelugumilli Mandal in Andhra Pradesh’s Eluru district.

According to the police, the accident occurred when a truck coming from the opposite direction hit the motorcycle driven by two young people. The victims were returning to their hometown after attending a function held at a relative’s house in Chichhodi Gumpu of Aswaraopeta mandal when the accident occurred.

Police think that the accident was caused by the truck driver’s negligence.

The bodies were sent to the government hospital in Aswaraopeta for autopsy.

A case has been registered and further investigation is on.

KU student drowned in SRSP canal, two escaped

A final year engineering student of Kakatiya University drowned in the Sri Ram Sagar Project (SRSP) canal under KU police station limits at Hanamkonda on Sunday, while two others had a narrow escape.

The incident took place behind the KU Engineering College campus when three students went swimming. While two people managed to reach safety despite the strong currents, the third was swept away.

The deceased has been identified as Bhukya Vasu (22), a fourth year B.Tech (EEE) student from Chimnya Thanda in Dornakal mandal.

According to police, Vasu had entered the channel along with his bandmates Neeruti Sandeep (Mechanical Engineering) and Challa Sai (EEE). The trio reportedly underestimated the depth and strength of the water. As they struggled, Vasu was dragged into deeper waters while Sandeep and Sai reached the shore.

Police and rescue teams started a search and later found the body. The death caused great darkness on the university campus.

A case was registered and the body was removed for post-mortem. Police warned students and young people not to enter the SRSP canal due to dangerous currents and slippery surfaces.

Little Girl Arrested for Death of 3-Year-Old Child in Scooter Accident; Police Investigating Vehicle Ownership

Cherlapally police handed over the body of a 3-year-old boy, who died after being hit by a scooter driven by a little girl in Charlapally, to his family after the autopsy was conducted at Gandhi Hospital. A lawsuit was filed against the little girl for causing death by negligence and acting recklessly in a way that endangered the lives of others. Additional charges, if any, will be added at the time of filing the final chargesheet, police said.

Sources said the ownership of the scooter is being verified. According to initial findings, it was determined that the vehicle was registered in the name of the little girl’s mother. The Registration Certificate (RC) will be verified with the RTO and the vehicle will also be checked for any mechanical faults.

Police were investigating the circumstances that led to the little boy being allowed to ride the scooter. According to the parents, the girl was learning to ride a two-wheeler at the time of the incident.

Twin Tragedies: 13-Year-Old Girl Drowned by Sari Swing, 6-Year-Old Boy Drowned in Himayatsagar

A 13-year-old girl who became entangled in a sari tied as a swing for her younger brother died at a hospital in Malakpet, police said on Sunday. The victim’s parents, Shivayogi Satyanarayan and Monica, were not at work when the incident took place on Saturday night.

Three of her children, including victim Shrestha, were playing on the swings when Shrestha got tangled in the sari wrapped around her neck. When he fainted. His younger sister tried to help him but couldn’t and called his parents.

The couple rushed home, rescued Shrestha and took her to the hospital, where she died while receiving treatment around 2.30 am on Sunday.

In a separate incident, a six-year-old boy drowned in Himayatsagar. Padmalayanagar resident Katrawat Raju took his son for a picnic to Himayatsagar near Outer Ring Road Exit 7 on Saturday afternoon, Rajendranagar police said. While Raju was busy, Sai slipped into the water and drowned. The police registered the incident and started investigating.
