Deepinder Goyal drops a personal, emotional, heartfelt note for ex-employees who quit or were asked to leave Zomato

Deepinder Goyal, founder and Vice Chairman of Eternal Limited, has issued an open invitation to his former employees, urging them to return to the company regardless of how or why they left. He also noted that the company is thriving and that “the doors are not closed” to those who once worked there.
“If you worked at Zomato, chose to move on, or if I was the one asking you to leave, this is for you,” Goyal wrote in a post about X, referring to past employees.
He also acknowledged that the company may not have provided the right environment or leadership for some people in the past, but emphasized that many employees have enjoyed their time at the company.
“Today we have over four hundred people on their second or third tour of duty at Eternal. Many of them are doing the best they can right now. Maybe because they’ve grown, but also because the company has grown as well. We’re more organized, a little less chaotic, and hopefully I’ve learned a few things along the way,” he said in a social media post.
Goyal encourages former employees to rethink
He also encouraged former employees to reconsider and contact the manager if they want to rejoin. “If you haven’t reached out to me because you think the door is closed or you think I’m holding on to the past, I’m not. I want you back,” he said.
He emphasized that Eternal now encompasses multiple businesses, including Blinkit’s flash commerce operations, Hyperpure, District, Nugget, and non-profit Feeding India, adding that the company needs suitable employees to grow these platforms.
“There’s a lot to build in Eternal… We need people here who already know what good looks like and care enough to fight for it. There’s no better person for that than someone who’s been here, gone, grown up, and wants to come back,” he said, stating his purpose for writing the post.
Former Zomato CEO talks about leadership
Addressing the recent change in leadership, he said: “You might say Eternal won’t be the same now that I’m no longer the CEO. But ask yourself one question. Have titles ever mattered in Eternal? I’m still here, and I’d love for you to be a part of Eternal’s next phase.”
He also urged interested former colleagues to contact the executive and rejoin. “If you think you have unfinished business here, please don’t think too much. Write to me at back@eternal.com,” he said.
Ending the post on a lighter note, he noted: “Gurgaon pollution is still a bug, but being in Eternal is a feature. Let’s talk and find a role that suits your life today.”
Deepinder Goyal resigned as CEO and Managing Director of Eternal on January 21. Blinkit’s Albinder Singh Dhindsa has been appointed as CEO, effective February 1, 2026.
Explaining why he was stepping down as CEO, Goyal had earlier said that he had recently felt attracted to a number of new ideas that involved risks and experiments and were only possible outside the company.
