Today, sacked former Foreign Office chief Olly Robbins says No 10 has a “condescending” attitude towards scrutiny of Lord Mandelson. Robbins told MPs that when he took over there was already a “very, very strong expectation” from No 10 that Mandelson “should come into office and come to America as quickly as possible”. Downing Street denied taking a “condescending” approach to the investigation and said Robbins had made an “error of judgement”. So where does this leave the Prime Minister? Adam and Chris argue.
