Republic Day 2026: Anand Mahindra, Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Bill Gates, other business leaders extend wishes

Business leaders from across India Inc. extended their greetings to the nation and citizens on the occasion of Republic Day 2026 celebrated on Monday, January 26.
Republic Day is celebrated in India every year on January 26 to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution. The day is celebrated with parades and cultural programs across the country, as well as flag unfurling by the President and other dignitaries of states and UTs.
Republic Day wishes of business leaders
Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra on Monday extended his greetings to the nation on the occasion of Republic Day.
In his post on X, he wrote, “Republic is not just where we come from… It is how we imagine the future. Together. Happy Republic Day.”
Bill Gates, founder and former CEO of Microsoft, sent his greetings on this occasion with a video message.
“It is my honor to send my greetings as India celebrates Republic Day. Republic Day is a moment to reflect on the extraordinary promise India made to itself in 1950 to build a nation where opportunities expand and knowledge empowers and elevates everyone… Indian innovation is serving people at scale, not just in India but across the global South… I am thrilled to attend the India AI Impact Summit next month and our Foundation will talk about our partnerships, commitment and helping build an inclusive AI future.” he said.
Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Chief Executive Officer of Biocon, also conveyed her greetings, determined to unlock India’s true potential.
“As we celebrate Republic Day, let us resolve to unlock our true economic development potential through hard work and technology-led innovation that can help us overcome poverty and lack of resources and achieve higher levels of progress. Jai Hind,” he wrote about X.
In a long post on X, Vedanta President extended Republic Day wishes by congratulating the new India.
“As the Republic, we are 76 years old today. A lot has changed in all these years, but what has not changed is our spirit. The spirit of learning, of doing something new. This is India, it neither stops, nor bends, nor gets tired, nor stops. It just keeps moving forward. The biggest dream still remains. To be a developed India from a developing India. And we will achieve this, because this is the new India. And this is just the beginning. Congratulations Republic Day!”

Celebrated every year on January 26, Republic Day celebrates the day when India adopted its Constitution in 1950 and officially became a sovereign, socialist, secular and democratic republic. The day has immense historical significance as it represents the culmination of India’s long struggle for independence and the establishment of constitutional rule based on justice, freedom, equality and fraternity.
