Prosecutors accused two men, including an old parliamentary researcher accused of espionage for China.

30 -year -old Christopher Cash and 33 -year -old Christopher Berry previously rejected the charges under the Official Secrets Law. Beijing described his claims as “malicious slander”.

Between 28 December 2021 and February 3, 2023, the two men were accused of gathering and providing prejudiced information for the security and interests of the state.

The couple would be tried in Woolwich Crown Court as of October 6th.

Prosecutor Tom Little said on Monday that his team would not offer any evidence against men and said, “We cannot continue to prosecute this case.”

Mr. Berry, a teacher from Witney in Oxfordshire, and Mr. Cash of WhiteChapel in London were arrested in March 2023 as part of an investigation containing the anti -terrorist police.

For an enemy, they were accused of gathering information “directly or indirectly or indirectly calculated, may or intended”.

Mr. Cash reportedly included in the Parliament’s Chinese Research Group (CRG).

Former Security Minister Tom Tugendhat and then the IFEEIGN Affairs Committee Alicia Kearns, including many conservative deputies were understood.

The government said that Chinese spies have previously targeted British authorities throughout political, defense and business sectors as part of an increasingly complex spying operation.

“We hope you can only rebuild your life.”
