Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix impressed NFL fans Sunday night with a touchdown pass while Courtland Sutton was down.
Nix was pressured by the Washington Commanders’ defense on 2nd-and-10 from the 11-yard line. He stepped toward the pocket as if he was going to make a tackle, but at the last second he saw Sutton streaking through the end zone.

Sutton intercepted the pass and the Broncos were able to take a 13-7 lead into halftime.
“One of the things he does very well is extending plays, and this was a perfect example,” Broncos head coach Sean Payton told NBC’s Melissa Stark at halftime. “From the perspective that he threw it… Look, I think it’s going to be important for us to get some balance in the second half to get that running game going.”
It wasn’t exactly an offensive outburst from Denver in the first half. Nix was 15-of-24 with 146 passing yards and a touchdown pass to Sutton. The team had only 39 yards on the ground, five of which were by Nix.
