Sinatra ready to put on a show in Lismore maiden
He doesn’t have the “old blue eyes” or penchant for romantic song and dance, but the man with the surname Hollywood is ready to open his account for a second time at Monday’s Lismore meeting.
The cleverly named Sinatra is set to contest a moderate Maiden Plate over 1410 meters for leading Far North Coast trainer Matthew Dunn.

Sinatra, the Group 1 three-year-old winner Microphone out of the mare Show Love, returns to the course he narrowly missed on his debut as the heavily supported $1.90 favorite after covering plenty of ground for most of the race.
But all must be forgiven three weeks later, when Sinatra addressed the same journey with a softer sigh, before a very moderate field appeared at the set weights.
Certainly Sinatra’s connections believe that if he is interested in this field, he can quickly get into the Saturday Highway company and quickly achieve better grades.
She opened at around $1.75 in the early betting, well clear of her closest rival Casino mare So Sain ($5) and Queensland visitor Taravia’s $6.
And it may be up to the Dunn camp to fend off another strong raid from stables across the border, shouldering the good-natured Warrior Bae ($2.80) in the Benchmark 58 Handicap over 1510 metres.
In fact, the South East Queensland coaches are likely to go home with the bulk of the Lismore prize money.
Leading the charge in the south is the Paul Shailer stable based in the Gold Coast suburb of Bundall.
