“First of all, I wished I looked just like Jaxson,” Trump said. “‘Is he a male model?’ I said. A handsome man, like a beautiful man, a conservative man. ‘I love you sir,’ he said. I didn’t know you did this. Potentially a great point guard. He’s a young boy. Actually, he has just started, but when he plays, he moves the team.

“I didn’t know him, but I watched him a little bit, but he really got the team going. Huge potential. If he stays healthy, he’ll be great.”

Trump sent a reminder about his victory over Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election.

He said he won the popular vote and got tons of support from counties across the US.

“So when Jaxson gets a little abuse, he gets more love because we have more people than them,” Trump said.

Darts even faced criticism from teammate Abdul Carter for promoting Trump at the event in Suffern.

“Some things are bigger than football, and this is one of them,” Carter told reporters Friday. “Jaxson is one of our leaders. He’s the face of our team. He not only represents himself and what he does, he represents all of us, and that goes for everyone who wears a Giants uniform.”

“But if he chooses to align himself with a guy like President Trump, it’s my responsibility to not only show my teammates that I’m against that, depending on what I believe in or what I stand for, but to show the whole world.”

Dart explained that his upbringing made him feel like meeting the president was the right choice.

“This was, you know, a unique opportunity to be asked and given the opportunity to introduce the President of the United States,” Dart said. “My thought was pretty simple, you know, I’ve always loved this country. I have extended family members who fought in wars. I have two uncles who retired from the Air Force Academy and served for themselves. I even have a great-grandfather who served as Secretary of the Treasury at one point.”

“So the position of president has always been a position that I respect, regardless of political affiliation and political party, and you know, that’s exactly what I intended.”
