NFL veterans get in heated scuffle in Raiders-Giants matchup

Two NFL veterans were seen engaging in a screaming match in Las Vegas on Sunday night as Raiders safety Jamal Adams and New York Giants quarterback Jameis Winston had to be kept away from each other on the sidelines.

The NFL team doesn’t have much to play with outside of draft position in Week 17 either, but tensions flared when Giants receiver Wan’Dale Robinson made a catch and Adams ran down near the Giants’ sideline after the play ended.

Adams and the Giants coach confronted each other, and although it is unknown what was said, Winston was quick to jump right into the middle of the commotion between the Giants players and Adams.

It got to the point where Winston and Adams pushed each other and came face to face. This went on for quite some time before the referees had to intervene on the sideline.

Winston continued to yell at Adams as his Giants teammates began to pull him away from the situation. Everything that was said clearly irritated Winston, while Adams seemed to wonder what had caused the situation to be so disappointing.

This game between the Giants and Raiders features the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, as New York will secure that selection with a loss on the road. They would move to 2-14 on the season, playing at home against the Dallas Cowboys, who ended the season in Week 18.

On the other hand, the Raiders currently have the same 2-13 record as the Giants and will face the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 18. A loss to the Raiders doesn’t guarantee a pick like the Giants due to the strength of the schedule, but they will have a much better chance of being the No. 1 seed heading into Week 18.

Obviously neither team wants to be in this situation, but it is an unfortunate fact that there are only two games left.

Both teams could certainly use this top pick next April, but the Raiders would be especially happy with it considering they’re in the market for a quarterback. They keep Geno Smith around for another year, but they don’t have a quarterback of the future waiting behind them.

At the same time, the Giants liked what they saw from their rookie first-round quarterback on the Darts, who shined despite his New York record.

Indiana’s Fernando Mendoza and Oregon’s Dante Moore appear to be the top options, according to most draft experts.

At halftime of that contest, the Giants took a 17-3 lead over the Raiders with quick scores from Devin Singletary and Jaxson Dart.
