NFL week 18 results & play-off standings: Full wildcard weekend schedule after Steelers egde out Ravens

After the Broncos beat the Los Angeles Chargers to finish first in the AFC on Sunday and the Seahawks won the NFC on Saturday, the road to the Super Bowl will pass through Denver and Seattle.

While the remaining 12 teams compete in the wild card round, both sides will take the next week off to rest and recuperate.

AFC Inseminations

The New England Patriots won Sunday but had to settle for second place with Denver’s tiebreaker and will host the resting Chargers next week in Foxborough.

The Jacksonville Jaguars beat the Houston Texans to clinch the AFC South title, but both sides are very excited heading into the playoffs having won nine and eight games in a row.

Reigning MVP Josh Allen played just once on Sunday, but he will lead the Buffalo Bills as narrow favorites next week in Jacksonville and the Texans and their league-leading defensive favorites will take on the Steelers in Pittsburgh.

NFC Seedings

Seattle will try their luck as they have finished first in the Super Bowl three previous times, but they have a strong NFC challenge ahead of them.

Caleb Williams nearly led the Chicago Bears’ comeback on Sunday, but they fell 19-16 at home to the Detroit Lions.

The Bears will face tough opponents in the Green Bay Packers next week. It’s the oldest and most played rivalry in the NFL, but this will be the third playoff meeting between the two after 2010 and 1941.

Defending champion Philadelphia decided to rest most of their starters in their loss to the Washington Commanders, but the Eagles will be at full strength against the San Francisco 49ers.

Matthew Stafford continued his MVP claim by scoring three goals in the second half and scoring four overall; The Los Angeles Rams fell to the 49ers’ fifth seed, making for a much better tie with the Carolina Panthers than Philadelphia.
