Nickelodeon star Tylor Chase is hospitalized as loved ones band together to help him out of homelessness

Tylor Chase is receiving much-needed medical care at a Southern California hospital after friends and family banded together to help the struggling former child star, the Daily Mail has learned.

Old Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide co-star Daniel Curtis Lee told the Daily Mail that Chase’s father ‘instructed’ Los Angeles-based influencer and business owner Jacob ‘Jake’ Harris to do whatever it took to help his son.

“I eventually managed to get through to a crisis center who did an assessment on the same day,” Harris told the Daily Mail on Christmas Day. ‘They decided he needed urgent help and took him to a local hospital for 72 hours of treatment.’

Harris added: ‘He’s doing well now. And the future looks bright. He just needed someone to actually do something to help.’

Harris, for her part, spearheaded Chase’s recovery because she was an acquaintance of former Mighty Ducks star Shaun Weiss, who had struggled with his own addiction issues for years but has since been in recovery.

The much-needed good news for Chase, 36, came on a rainy Christmas Eve after a fan was photographed handing him a red raincoat and some food to help him brave the elements, before praying for the former child star.

The one-time child star kept warm on the winter day in a red jacket with a black hooded sweatshirt, gray trousers and black Nike sneakers.

Former co-star Lee, 34, had previously said he was “not sure” if Chase had “voluntarily” sought medical care, but on Monday he said he was one of many friends who joined his former co-star on FaceTime to “encourage him to seek treatment.”

“His father told me he instructed Jake to get Tylor treated as much as possible,” Lee told the Daily Mail. ‘I hope this will be a step that will enable him to stay in treatment.’

Chase was spotted braving a rainy day in Southern California on Christmas Eve, buying new clothes from good Samaritans who prayed with him for his well-being. Chase appeared to thank the people who helped him.

In video of the encounter, the man who brought the jacket to Chase initially draped it over him, then awkwardly helped the former actor pull his arms away from his sleeves.

When the fan asked if he could pray for Chase, the former actor briefly smiled and said, ‘I appreciate that!’ he said.

As Chase leaned forward, the man placed his hands on his shoulders and back and prayed for God to “release the demonic activity” and “bring him out of the darkness.”

Weiss, 47, made a public appeal about Chase on Monday, claiming she wanted to find him to help her because she had received so many touching messages about the actor online.

Chase’s former co-star Daniel Curtis Lee told the Daily Mail: ‘[Chase] He is currently in hospital and I hope this will be a step towards continuing his treatment.’

Medical authorities ‘determined that he needed immediate assistance and took him to a local hospital for 72 hours of treatment,’ Harris told the Daily Mail on Christmas Day that Chase was on Thursday.

A few hours later he Confirmed in a separate video: ‘I’ve contacted some friends and we have a bed for him during detox and somewhere he can go and get long-term treatment.’

But Weiss revealed exclusively to the Daily Mail that his and Harris’ first attempt on Monday night didn’t go exactly as planned. Although they were able to take Chase to a hotel room, he did not comply with their wishes to go to a hospital or detox center shortly afterward.

“Jake had had a conversation with him and was trying to establish a rapport, which could be difficult and misleading given Tylor’s situation,” Weiss explained. ‘He said Tylor seemed very open to the idea of ​​getting treatment and going into detox.’

The Heavyweights star said Chase became ‘scared’ at one point and then allegedly started resisting help, adding: ‘I think one comment he made was: ‘I like my life the way it is’ and I can assure you he doesn’t like his life the way it is.’

Weiss said Harris also contacted local police for additional assistance, noting that authorities were “incredibly cooperative.”

He added: ‘We’re doing whatever we have to do to get him off the street.’

Police previously told the Daily Mail that Chase had been “friendly and cooperative” with them, but told TMZ that Chase had also repeatedly refused housing, drug or alcohol treatment or mental health services.

Harris Shared via Instagram But a text message arrived late Monday explaining that she had sat down with Chase for ‘an hour’ and that Chase’s father and co-stars had called her.

Lee, who starred alongside Chase (not pictured) in Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide, told the Daily Mail he was ‘deeply saddened’ to learn of his former co-star’s struggles and would check in on him periodically.

“They explained their love for him and how much they wanted/needed him to accept help,” Harris wrote.

‘He is now in contact with all the right people to get the help he needs. ‘There’s a hotel room tonight to give him time to make his decision on his own.’

Lee commented under Harris’ post: ‘Thank you Jake for doing what was necessary for his treatment.’

The concerned friend also told the Daily Mail that she had been worried about Chase since learning he was dealing with mental health and substance abuse issues via a TikTok video in November.

“It was devastating to see someone I grew up with in this situation,” Lee added.

The Nickelodeon alum admitted that “like many of his former castmates,” he “has not been in close contact” with Chase in recent years, but was still “deeply saddened to learn of his difficulties.”

Chase played Martin Qwerly in 33 episodes of the program between 2004 and 2007, while Lee played Simon ‘Cookie’ Nelson-Cook in 54 episodes.

Lee, who is busy producing and directing a reality show for two-time US Olympic gold medalist Claressa Shields, said she was taking time to check in on her former co-star and ‘reminisce about simpler childhood days’.

He concluded by being grateful that ‘support from fans and those who inspired Tylor as a young actor could help guide him towards a healthier path.’

The Daily Mail spoke exclusively with Chase as he wandered the streets of Riverside, California, near a 7-Eleven convenience store on Monday.

He was wearing a tattered purple jacket, an oversized gray t-shirt, dark pants and brown loafers. He was then seen going through cigarette butts and Christmas cards.

In a heartfelt message to her mother, she said: ‘I love you. ‘I’ll talk to you soon.’

‘I’m having a hard time in life. I know I can make this better, but right now I’m a magician who’s lost his top hat and rabbits. ‘Nobody comes to my shows anymore.’

In an apparent cry for help, he added: ‘I am chained to my bedroom by the weight of bipolar disorder. Maybe I’m doomed. Maybe I didn’t do anything. Maybe I’m nothing.’
