Coca-Cola confirms cane sugar version coming to the US

Coca-Cola confirmed the latest announcement of US President Donald Trump, said this year he would add a reed sugar version of the trademark Cola to the US series this year.

Trump said in a social media broadcast last week that Coca-Cola agreed to use real reed sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup in the US flagship product.

Coke did not approve the change immediately, but soon promised new offers.

On Tuesday, James Quincey, Coca-Cola President and CEO, said Coke’s product range “to reflect the consumer’s interest in differentiated experiences”.

Coke is currently selling Mexican cola made with reed sugar in the USA.

“We appreciate the President’s enthusiasm for our Coca-Cola brand,” Quincey said in a conference meeting with investors on Tuesday. He said.

“This supplement is designed to complete our powerful core portfolio and offer more options between situations and preferences.”

Coca-Cola balanced the weaker sales volumes of higher prices, reported better in the second quarter than expected.

Case volumes fell globally by 1 percent and 1 percent in North America, but Coke said on Tuesday that the pricing increased by 6 percent in April-June period.

A bright point was Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, who recorded a growth of 14 percent.

The traditional Coca-Cola is still removing zero-sugary diversity, but the consumer demand for zero-sugary versions is growing much faster.

Coke, global case fruit juice, dairy products and plant -based beverages fell 4 percent, he said.

Higher demand in North America was balanced by decreases in Latin America, and the cases of sports drink fell by 3 percent.
