NIOS 2026 exam date-sheet: Check the expected date, how to check and important guidelines for students

The National Institute of Open Education is expected to publish the theory exam date sheet for public exams in April 2026 soon. The exams will be held for Secondary School (Grade 10) and Secondary School (Grade 12) students registered for the March-April 2026 session. Once the theoretical schedule is published, it will be available on the official NIOS website.

Earlier, NIOS had announced that the practical exams for the April 2026 session will be held between March 17 and April 1, 2026. Students are now waiting for the detailed schedule for theory papers, which is likely to be released in March as per the regular academic calendar. Written exams are expected to begin in early April 2026 and may continue until May 2026. Deadlines, subject-wise schedules and exam timings will be mentioned in the official PDF notification.

The theory date page will include subject codes, exam dates, reporting periods and important instructions for candidates. Students are advised to verify their subjects carefully and plan their preparation accordingly. Any changes to the program will be updated on the official website when necessary.
The practical exam history has already been published. Practical exams for both Class 10 and Class 12 will be held between 17 March and 1 April 2026 at allocated study or examination centres. The exact date and time of each subject will be notified by the relevant study center in accordance with the official schedule. Students are advised to confirm reporting times and required materials in advance.

NIOS April 2026 theory exam guide for candidates

1. Candidates are required to have their exam entry documents with them on all exam days.
