No compromise on pourakarmika rights, says Safai Karmachari Commission Chief

At an interaction program held in Jayanagar, P. Raghu, Chairman of the Karnataka State Safai Karmachari Commission, assured pourakarmikas that there would be ‘no compromise’ on the facilities and rights legally vested in them.

Employees of the Bengaluru South City Corporation have raised a number of issues, including delays in recruitment, lack of basic facilities, pending salaries, provident fund and biometric attendance issues, and inadequate access to toilets and washrooms.

Mr. Raghu directed the officials to issue pending appointment orders within a week and ensure availability of toilets, latrines and drinking water in every ward and assembly point. He warned that hotels that deny Pourakarmika access to toilets will face legal action. He also directed officials to maintain public toilets in parks and resolve all salary-related technical issues immediately.
