‘No one ruled out’ in Nancy Guthrie case after her blood was found on porch, says sheriff: Live updates

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos confirmed at a news conference Thursday that the drops of blood found on Nancy Guthrie’s porch belonged to her.

Nanos confirmed that no suspects were identified in the investigation, but no one was ruled out.

The Daily Mail revealed how Nancy, 84, was kidnapped from her $1 million home late January 31 and early February 1, according to police.

President Donald Trump announced Wednesday night that he had directed “all federal law enforcement agencies” to assist in the investigation “IMMEDIATELY” and that “our Nation’s prayers are with him and his family.”

Authorities said they believed the mother of three was still alive, although no suspects had been identified.

“We have nothing but to believe he’s here,” Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said in a new interview with NBC’s Liz Kreutz. ‘He’s here. ‘He’s alive and we want to save him.’

“We actively look after everyone we encounter, in this case everyone,” Nanos said. ‘We would be irresponsible if we didn’t talk to everyone.’

He added: ‘It is truly reckless to report that someone is a suspect when they could be a victim.’

FBI deploys additional intelligence and agents to assist in search

Heith Janke, special agent in charge of the FBI’s Phoenix division, said the bureau is dedicating additional resources to assist in the search for Nancy Guthrie.

‘We brought our critical incident response group from Quantico, Virginia; Members of our cellular analysis research team are here and continue to collect and process digital information,” Janke said.

‘We actively review and analyze information from all digital sources, including banks, social media companies, phone companies and other organizations where a digital footprint may be captured.

‘All this information provides data points and helps put the picture together; ‘We will be in the community continuing to conduct comprehensive research with our partners.’

Sharif will not hold another press conference until developments are made

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said he would not hold another news conference until a major breakthrough is made.

‘I don’t plan on scheduling another press conference unless we have real evidence or something to present to you,’ he said.

‘It’s pretty pointless to keep chasing the same things.’

FBI says deadline for delivery of a ransom note is 5pm today

FBI Special Agent Heith Janke said the deadline for one of the reported ransom notes was 5 p.m. today.

He added that the memo has a second deadline for next Monday.

‘So we proceed with a normal kidnapping case; Janke said a contact will be established by now to discuss this issue.

‘But these are the time frames we’re looking at as we move forward.’

Sheriff reiterates concerns about Nancy’s medications

“This is the fourth or fifth day and we don’t know if he took his medication and that in itself could be fatal,” Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said Thursday.

The sheriff’s office said Nancy Guthrie’s doorbell camera was disconnected in the middle of the night around the time she went missing early Sunday.

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos made the troubling statement at a press conference in Tucson, Ariz., on Thursday, four days after Savannah Guthrie was reported missing from her 84-year-old mother’s $1 million home.

Sheriff Nanos told reporters that the doorbell camera was disconnected at 1:47 a.m., but a person was detected by the camera’s sensors at 2:12 a.m.
