No place for politics on women’s empowerment, says Pushkar Dhami

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday (April 28, 2026) said women’s empowerment should not be politicized and urged all parties to support the proposed Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, which aims to reserve 33% seats for women in Parliament and State Assemblies.

Mr. Dhami’s statement came during a special session of the Uttarakhand Assembly and called for a unanimous resolution supporting the Centre’s efforts to implement the legislation at the earliest.
