Speaking at the St Petersburg International Economic Forum, the Russian leader praised India’s human capital and technological prowess and particularly highlighted the country’s expertise in coding and software engineering.

Emphasizing the critical nature of the India-Russia strategic alliance due to increasing fluctuations in global energy markets due to geopolitical frictions in West Asia and fear of logistics disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, the Russian President stated that bilateral synergy provides mutual benefits.
Putin said, “Prime Minister Modi had to impose certain restrictions, asking people not to drive personal vehicles or travel long distances, due to what happened in the Strait of Hormuz. I believe that our companies and our Indian colleagues made the right decision by choosing the path of close cooperation. Today, we are extending a helping hand by increasing supplies to the Indian market and Asia in general, while continuing to share our technological solutions.” he said.
In a firm statement addressing external diplomatic pressures, Putin asserted that Moscow’s relations with New Delhi remain out of touch with changing global political dynamics, reinforcing that the Kremlin will consistently fulfill its bilateral assurances.
The Russian President said, “No one can dictate terms to us and will not attempt to do so. We will always fulfill the commitments we have made to our partners, especially our partners such as India.” Drawing attention to the broad framework of defense and technological synergy between the two countries, Putin pointed out that a significant part of India’s defense forces use Russian-origin equipment.
“This is a tradition that dates back to the Soviet period. Our relationship with our Indian friends is unique because it is based on mutual trust. We focus not only on trade and commerce, but also on joint research and development,” Putin said. he said.
The Russian President also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decisive leadership and noted that any punitive measures targeting India would ultimately backfire on countries trying to implement them.
Simultaneously, the Russian leader pointed out that India-US relations are gradually improving and emphasized that New Delhi has full autonomy to make strategic choices compatible with its national interests.
“India is free to choose the most advanced products, those that best suit its needs and offer the best value in terms of price and quality,” Putin said.
