North Korea leader Kim praises ‘heroic’ troops in Russia, state media says

Seoul (Reuters) -Sort Korean leader Kim Jong Un, said in a statement on Thursday, the army’s overseas operation with the officers of the “heroic” North Korean troops fighting for Russia in a war against Ukraine.

According to the South Korean intelligence assessment, North Korea sent more than 10,000 soldiers to support Russia’s war in Ukraine and is believed to plan another deployment.

Kim and Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the Strategic Partnership Treaty, which included a mutual defense agreement in June last year.

Before Putin met with US President Donald Trump, Kim spoke to Putin on the phone and gave full support to Moscow.

Previously, Kim paid tribute to North Korean soldiers who were killed during the war with Ukraine, covered their coffins with flags and listened to both hands on a rare public screen.

According to KCNA, “Ours is a heroic army … Our army has fully demonstrated its unique qualities. Such a result strengthened its appeal and reputation as the most powerful army in the world.” He said.
