Asserting that India is in no mood to stop and is “unstoppable”, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Friday that the debate about “unstoppable India” is very natural when the world has “speed breakers” of different kinds. Speaking at the NDTV World Summit 2025 here, Prime Minister Modi said India’s trade with G7 countries has increased by over 60 percent today and the world now sees India as a reliable, responsible and resilient partner.
He said the global community has begun to doubt India’s growth trajectory following the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic and geopolitical conflicts. But India has defied expectations and emerged from strength to strength, cementing its status as the fastest-growing major economy. Prime Minister Modi said India has achieved an average growth rate of 7.8% in the last three years, which is a remarkable and unprecedented achievement.
Referring to the theme of the summit, he said India has no intention of slowing down. “India is in no mood to stop. We will not stop, we will not stop. We 140 Indians will move forward quickly. While there are different kinds of speed breakers in the world, it is very natural to discuss the unstoppable India,” he said.
Prime Minister Modi said India has eliminated every doubt and overcome every challenge in the last 11 years. “Today, India has emerged from the Fragile Five and become one of the five largest economies in the world. Today, inflation is below two percent and the growth rate is above seven percent. Today, from chip to ship, aatmanirbhar Bharat (aatmavishwas) is brimming with confidence. Moreover, the country no longer hesitates in the face of terrorist attacks. With airstrikes, surgical strikes and decisive actions like Operation Sindoor, India has sent a strong message to the world, showing strength and “He responds with determination,” he said.
Prime Minister Modi said India’s merchandise exports witnessed a significant increase of around 7 percent compared to the previous year. “Exports in the agriculture sector touched an impressive Rs 4.5 lakh crore last year. At a time when many countries were grappling with economic instability and downgrades, India stood out; S&P Global upgraded India’s credit rating for the first time in 17 years. Also, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) revised its growth forecasts for India,” he said.
“Our trade with G7 countries has increased by over 60% today, reflecting India’s growing importance on the global stage. The world now sees India as a reliable, responsible and resilient partner. From electronics to pharmaceuticals, automobiles to mobile devices, India is experiencing a surge in investments across various sectors. This wave of investment positions India as a vital nerve center in the global supply chain.”
