‘Nothing left unsaid’: What Christina Applegate’s ‘anguished’ A-list friends have told her after rushing to her hospital bed… as insider gives health update and star ‘hides’ details of her decline

Christina Applegate’s sudden health scare has sparked an outpouring of love from across Hollywood; Her friends and former co-stars rushed to reach her, fearing they might not get another chance.
As the Emmy-winning actress, 54, battled a severe flare-up of multiple sclerosis late last month, messages, flowers and visits poured in from every stage of her career, from recent colleagues to those who knew her decades ago.
For some, it was more than support; It was about ensuring ‘nothing was left unsaid’.
The Daily Mail has learned that among the celebrities contacted specifically were co-star Will Ferrell, Linda Cardellini, with whom he starred in the 2019 comedy Dead to Me, and Jean Smart, who played his mother in Samantha Who? In 2007.
Ed O’Neill and Katey Sagal, who played Applegate’s parents on the long-running ’90s sitcom Married… with Children, also reached out to her, the Daily Mail has revealed.
‘They don’t think this is for him, he’s not dying right now. But a source who worked on the show and is still close to Applegate told the Daily Mail: “But they wanted to make sure nothing was left unsaid.” ‘They told each other they loved each other.’
He remained close to the Applegate TV family. Sagal was there when he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2022, and O’Neill was a guest on Applegate’s podcast, MeSsy.
Fellow actor and source close to O’Neill told the Daily Mail: “I don’t want to say Ed is a father figure to her, but they’ve been in touch since their Married with Children days and are very, very close.”
Applegate starred on Married With Children from 1987 to 1997, launching her to fame and sparking a long television and film career.

‘They always were. “They text, they see each other, they call each other,” the source added.
‘He heard the news that she had been admitted to hospital and immediately texted her asking if he could help, saying he loved her and was there for her in any way she needed.’
One person told the Daily Mail it was difficult for O’Neill to watch his TV daughter deteriorate.
‘He is suffering,’ they continued. ‘I’m so worried about him, he loves her so much. Frankly, I don’t think he’s on his deathbed, but he’s not in a good condition and anything could happen.
‘He hates to see her suffer, it really affects him. So he offered anything he could to help. She’s family to him.’
Applegate is understood to have been hospitalized for the better part of a month; This is the final phase of his five-year battle with multiple sclerosis (MS).
The disease causes lethargy, weakness, difficulty walking, and vision changes that worsen with age and become debilitating during flares.
He had been largely bedridden for the last two years. But friends told the Daily Mail that last month’s attack was the most violent yet.
Sagal was in constant contact with Applegate to receive regular updates on his condition. “He’s worried,” said a source close to Sagal.
Applegate, who now walks with a cane, was surrounded by her Married With Children mother and brother as she received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2022.

‘Christina has been in and out of hospital but this time it felt different because it had been so long and also she hadn’t told anyone she was going to hospital.
‘So to your friends this seems sudden and serious. But he doesn’t tell anyone what really happened, he just says he will stand on his own two feet.’
Applegate took to Instagram on Monday to reassure her followers that she’s getting “stronger and better every day.”
She shared a photo of her memoir, You With Sad Eyes, and a mug in front of a fruit-bearing tree, and shared that she would “take a moment and focus.” [her] health.’
Her caption read: ‘Thank you for the outpouring of love and well wishes. Health problems are constant for me, but I am a strong girl and I am getting stronger every day. ‘I’m taking some time to focus on my health, but I’ll be back with more to say very soon.’
Applegate’s representative said in a statement to the Daily Mail: “They have no comment on whether she is in hospital or what her medical treatments are.” ‘As seen in his memoirs and podcast, he has a long history of dealing with complex medical conditions and is very open about it.’
But a source who knows Applegate from Married… With Kids told the Daily Mail that those close to her are quietly optimistic.
‘As he said, he is getting stronger. Less dizziness, less nausea. “It was a bad thing, but he’s optimistic,” the source said.
The MS diagnosis in 2021 was not the beginning of health problems.
Applegate was diagnosed with early-stage BRCA1-positive cancer in 2008, when she was 36 years old. mastectomy and later reconstructive surgery.
Applegate has appeared in at least 35 films, including the 2004 blockbuster Anchorman.
Applegate won a guest-starring Emmy for her role as Jennifer Aniston’s sister on Friends.

In her memoir, Applegate reflected on her struggles with health.
‘One of the worst side effects’ [MS] “It’s fatigue,” he wrote. ‘It’s like I’ve been sleep deprived for three days and this is how I feel after a good night’s sleep. So I spend all my time in and out of bed cuddling up on my heating pad.
‘After this diagnosis and the symptoms I’ve been experiencing, I no longer care what I say, how I come across, or how it makes someone feel.
‘I no longer have patience for bulls***, things that are meaningless or just “extra”.’
To her friends and colleagues, Applegate’s case served as a sobering reminder that life and health can be fleeting.
‘Despite her health problems, she was always so lively and full of life,’ one of O’Neill said.
‘So it’s devastating to see him this way and it’s really hard for the people who love him. Of course they hope he lives to be 90, but every time they see him they act like it’s the last time they’ll see him.’
