Indigenous group in legal bid to stop Olympic park plan

A local group has launched an application to stop controversial plans to develop a culturally important park as a 2032 Olympic Center.

The group wants Commonwealth to enter and save Victoria Park, which will be a 2032 game center and host a $ 3.7 billion -based main stadium.

Yagara Marandjin Aborigin Corporation, an application to protect the park with the federal government and said that its 2032 plans would cause “long -term injuries” to a local -important area.

The company’s uncle Steven said that the main stadium will be built in a park with stories, archaeological evidence, possible ancestors and old trees.

He also believes that more Aboriginal inheritance in the park has the potential for inheritance research, but fears that will not happen if the Olympics find it for the Olympics.

“He went forever after he disappeared,” said Yagara Elder AAP.

“This is to protect the cultural heritage for future generations, for our first nations, for the first countries – this is the history of Queensland.”

The clock is going to build 2032 venues after announced the plan of Queensland’s liberal national government more than 1300 days after Brisbane was elected as the Olympic server.

In addition, the fast -watched legislation to accelerate the structure of 2032 15 environmental and inheritance actions.

This enabled the government to skip the existing laws to build the main stadium in Victoria Park, despite the list of half of the state heritage.

“The state government has caused a lot of problems to eliminate the democratic rights we need to consult or to make a presentation about proposals, so we went to the federal legislation,” Victoria Park said.

Save Victoria Park supported an application accommodation within the scope of the Heritage Protection Act of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander.

If it succeeds, the federal government may declare the long -term protection of the park and stop any development.

However, the legal process may last for years and fear that the park can be found before a decision is made between the activists.

Ms. Bremner warned that the group is willing to look at the alternative emergency action to stop the rowing to support the company.

Uncle Steven said that the application was about stopping development for 2032 games in other places, but rather about protecting Victoria Park’s values and history.

“We do not want to continue the progress. We do not want to prevent people from enjoying the facilities that may come with 2032,” he said.

“But just stop a moment and take a look at those who are already destroyed and affected in Southeast Queensland, and they’ll be a little thoughtful to him and do something more appropriate.”

A state government spokesman defended the 2032 space plan and claimed that the latest legislation would still recognize the Heritage Heritage.

“The new laws of the Crisafuli government support the presentation of the new laws of the game infrastructure in a timely, budget and over 2032 communities.” He said.

“New laws offer a process that recognizes the cultural heritage issues of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island, contains participation and consultations with relevant parties and provides a cultural heritage management plan.”

Last week, a damn report announced that the game plan could not be completed on time due to a decrease in productivity.

However, Treasurer David Janetzki said the government was dependent on the 2032 struggle.
