Visakhapatnam Named Finalist In Bloomberg Mayors Challenge 2025

Visakhapatnam:Visakhapatnam was selected as one of the finalists of Bloomberg Mayors Challenge 2025, a global competition that has entered more than 600 cities in 99 countries.

GVMC is among the 50 beings selected to propose creative and practical solutions to urban challenges.

As a part of this, GVMC launches a new initiative called Vizag-Prajamukhi Urban Living Living (V-Pull). This model encourages citizens to share their thoughts and suggestions to help prepare Ward 19, Siva Ganesh Nagar for climate -related issues such as floods, cyclones and heat waves.

GVMC commissioner Ketan Garg said that this is a proud moment for the city and that the company reflects the commitment to find innovative, human -oriented solutions to improve urban life.

V-Pull is designed to be a collaborative area where citizens, experts and institutions can work together to develop solutions.

Previously, similar workshops in the Ward 41 have led to significant developments, and now GVMC expands the attempt to address the needs of fisherman families, which are vulnerable to excessive weather conditions, to Ward 19.

He encouraged everyone to participate and share his ideas by working together, saying, “It can better protect vulnerable communities and become more resistant to climate challenges”.

Residents can present their ideas by scanning QR codes in the GVMC website, social media or posters shown in the city. GVMC will also organize workshops at Ward 19, which residents, ward officials, municipal staff and experts will hand in hand to plan effective projects.
