Modi Vows White Paper On TMC Corruption, ₹3,000 Monthly Aid For Women

Purba Bardhaman (West Bengal): Raising political tensions ahead of the upcoming state elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday promised a stringent legal crackdown on Trinamool Congress (TMC) “syndicate”. Addressing a massive rally, the Prime Minister announced that the BJP-led government would release a “white paper” that would provide a comprehensive accounting of alleged corruption under the 15-year TMC regime.
PM Modi directly targeted the TMC’s leadership, alleging systematic looting involving ministers and local MLAs.”BJP will submit a white paper to ensure legal accounting of corruption involving TMC’s MLAs, ministers and unions. It will submit a full report of 15 years of government.
“Under the BJP government, stringent action will be taken to stop every such crime,” PM Modi said. He also predicted the NDA’s “huge mandate” in Keralam and added that the high energy and women’s participation in its rallies were clear indicators that the BJP was “moving steadily towards victory” in West Bengal. “Wherever there is massive voting and strong participation of women, the BJP-NDA has received a huge mandate. In Keralam, the situation is such that both LDF and UDF are not even claiming victory. In Bengal too, the BJP is steadily moving towards victory. Your enthusiasm and energy ensure success,” said PM Modi.
In a bid to consolidate the votes of key women, a demographic group that has traditionally supported Mamata Banerjee, the Prime Minister has made a huge financial commitment.
PM Modi said, “Seeing Bengal’s increasing support for the BJP, TMC is in panic and is misleading people with lies. You can be assured that the BJP will close the shop of corruption. I have especially come to assure all the sisters and daughters of Bengal that the BJP has announced ₹3,000 per month for women.” he said.
He accused the TMC of spreading misinformation about the BJP’s intention to cancel existing schemes and suggested that his party would instead strengthen benefit distribution by eliminating middlemen. “Seeing the Bengali people’s love for the BJP, the TMC has gone into panic mode. That’s why the TMC is lying to you. The TMC is saying that if the BJP comes, this plan will be stopped, that plan will be stopped. The truth is that the BJP will not stop anything… The BJP will only close the shop of corruption, stop their (TMCs’) loot,” he said.
The Prime Minister’s visit comes at a time when West Bengal is gearing up for important elections to be held on April 23 and 29, with the results to be decided on May 4. The upcoming elections come after the 2021 contest in which the TMC won a landslide 213 seats. But the BJP’s rise from a minor player to 77 seats in the last cycle has set the stage for the current high-stakes face-off.
