O.V. Vijayan’s birthday to be celebrated on July 2

The OV Vijayan Memorial Committee will celebrate the birthday of legendary Malayalam writer OV Vijayan on July 2 at Thasrak near here. District Collector Sudhir K. will inaugurate the event titled ‘Khasak, an illustrated epic’.

Committee chairman TK Narayanadas will preside over the event. Author Susmesh Chandroth will give the memorial speech. Critic Asha Menon will deliver the tribute.

Authors like PA Vasudevan, CP Chitrabhanu, TK Shankaranarayanan, Sreekrishnapuram Krishnankutty, Raghunathan Parali, KP Ramesh, P. Murali, CP Chitra, Jyothibai Pariyadath, Suresh Kodur, Mohandas Sreekrishnapuram, Rajesh Menon, PV Sukumaran, PR Jayasheelan, Manoj Veettikkad and M. Sivakumar will share their memories and thoughts about Vijayan’s life and literary legacy.
