Obama endorses redrawing California congressional districts to counter Trump

Former President Obama approved the California democrats’ plans for the Congress regions of California democrats if the GOP, led by Texas or another Republic, increased the chances of the GOP after the next year’s interim elections.
Obama opposed Partisan Gerrymandering, while the Republicans in Texas, who acted under President Trump’s command, forced the hands of the democrats.
The Democrats “If they do not respond effectively, then this White House and Republican controlled state governments will not stop all over the country, because they do not believe in a donor reported by Press on Wednesday for the first time in a donation collection fund on Tuesday, because they will not stop.”
“I wanted a fair fight between the Republicans and the democrats, and I saw a fair fight based on those who have better ideas, and I saw what would happen to the voters, Ok Obama said,“ But one of the two big parties cannot unilaterally allow the vote to equip.
Reduction typically takes place in just ten years to take into account the population shifts after the census. In 2010, California voted to form an independent redistribution commission to end Partizan Gerrymandering. California’s 52 congress zones were finally redefined in 2021.
At the beginning of this summer, Trump urged the leaders of Texas to re -draw the boundaries of Congress to increase the number of republican in the Congress. Gov. California, led by Gavin Newsom, responded to the democrats and suggested that the state re -drawing the regional lines and put the issue in a special election in November.
The problem has come to a head this week, Texas deputies are expected to vote for their new regions on Wednesday, and California laws are expected to vote on Thursday to call special elections.
Obama described Newsom’s approach as “responsible, because if the issue is ultimately agreed by voters and approved, only if Texas or another state begins to redistribute in mid -decade and return to the independent commission after the population of 2030.
“I think this approach is a smart, restrained approach designed to address a very special problem at a very special moment,” Obama said.
