Odisha Govt School Teacher Suspended After Thrashing Students for Not Touching Her Feet

Baripada (Odisha): Authorities said in a statement on Monday, the Odisha Education Department suspended a female teacher after being found guilty of physical punishment at a higher school operated by the state in the Mayurbhanj region.
The incident occurred on Thursday at the Baisinga Police Station at the Khandadeula State Upper Primary School.
Authorities, Assistant Teacher Sukanti Kar, 6, 7 and 8 students 31 students after the morning prayer session did not touch the feet with a bamboo bar beat.

The Odisha government has banned physical punishment in all educational institutions since September 2004.
