While it was reported that the explosion targeted a cafe, a large explosion occurred near the Palace of Justice in Damascus, Syria, and many casualties are feared. According to state media, the explosion occurred on Thursday in a coffeehouse in the Hejaz region of Damascus.

State-run Al-Ikhbariya television added that the nature of the explosion was not immediately clear. However, according to the same reports, many injuries were also reported.

According to preliminary information, at least 6 people were injured in the explosion. According to local news, the Palace of Justice was not damaged by the explosion.
