OGH Launches New Chest Wall Surgery

Haydarabad: Osmania General Hospital (OGH) campus hosted the first Pectus workshop and brought advanced chest wall corrective surgeries. In the two -day program organized by Dr. Anita Bhalla, President of Cardiorasyc and Vascular Surgery, live surgeries, cadaver applied training, academic sessions and simulation workshops.
St Bartholomew Hospital, Head of London and chaired the United Kingdom National Pectus Group. Shyam Kolkvekar performed a vibrant Pectus corrective surgery supported by Dr Bhalla. Dr Kolkvekar addressed the participants, children under the age of 10 can be managed conservatively, surgical correction is recommended after the best 12 years of age, he said.
Head of Anesthesia “The first minimal invasive repair of Pectus excavatum in Ogh took place in the event.” He said. The procedure was published live in hospitals in Haydarabad.
Dr Bhalla emphasized the importance of early detection. “Pectus is a corrective disorder. In order to provide timely correction, scanning should start in hospitals, schools and communities,” he said.
Faculty interactions and panel discussions, Dr. LM Darlong and Dr Kr Balasubramoniam leading experts, Dr Kolkvekar and Dr Bhalla’nın took place. On the second day of Rajkamal Vishnu (Chennai), he focused on cadaver applied training, simulation workshops and complication management.
