Lorraine Thompson, a witness in the area, told the Express & Star: “I live at the back on Birmingham Road – opposite British Queen and there is a car valet just up the road, at the back of there.

“The smoke is blowing in the opposite direction, the fire brigade said to keep windows and doors closed, there is thick black smoke and it still appears to be heavy.”
