On May 22, the SIT had filed a 1,500-page chargesheet against Danish Ejaz Sheikh, Tausif Bilal Attar, Nida Ejaz Khan and Matin Majid Patel under the BNS and the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act in a single case registered at Deolali Camp police station.
The SIT was formed after several women employees at the IT chief’s Nashik unit made allegations of abuse, attempted forced conversion, hurting religious sentiments, harassment and mental harassment.
The complainants alleged that the accused targeted employees through a Whatsapp group, pressuring them to pray and eat non-vegetarian food. Some victims also alleged that they were forced or pressured to adopt religious practices such as praying, changing eating habits, and adopting religious symbols.
Meanwhile, the police questioned Mateen Patel, owner of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslim company, who is accused of providing shelter to Nida Khan, an accused in the case, while she was evading arrest. He was questioned for about nine hours on May 25 and called back to the police station on June 1, an official said.
