One dead, five injured in shootings in central Israel

One person was killed and five others injured in a suspected terrorist attack in central Israel near the occupied West Bank, the Israeli ambulance service said.
Israeli police said the suspected attacker in the attack had been “neutralised”, without providing further details.
Police did not immediately identify the suspected attacker.
“While many police teams were dispatched to the scene, searches continue,” the statement said.
The Israeli ambulance service said a 35-year-old man died from a gunshot wound, while five people were injured, including two men identified by the ambulance service.
The attacks took place in three separate areas in central Israel, close to the Palestinian city of Qalqilya in the West Bank.
Palestinian militant group Hamas praised the attack but did not claim responsibility for it.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he was conducting a security assessment and monitoring the “deadly shooting attack.”
