One million people miss HMRC tax return deadline

Myrtle Lloyd, HMRC’s chief customer officer, said: “We would like to thank the millions of individuals and agencies who lodged their self-assessment tax returns and paid the tax owed by January 31. Anyone who misses the deadline should file their returns as soon as possible, as penalties and late payment interest may apply.”
