Chandigarh schools receive bomb threat, search operations underway

Several schools in Chandigarh received bomb threat emails on Monday, April 6, 2026, prompting authorities to conduct a thorough check.

Authorities said police reached the school building and searched inside educational institutions.

A police official in one of the schools where the control was carried out said, “We reached the school building after receiving the information. A comprehensive check is ongoing, but nothing suspicious has been found so far. We appealed to parents that there is no need to panic.”

The new incident comes on the heels of similar incidents in many places in Punjab and Haryana in the past few weeks, including Chandigarh, where some schools and the Supreme Court received threats that later turned out to be a hoax.
