Royal family to celebrate Christmas Day at Sandringham

The royal family is expected to celebrate Christmas Day together at Sandringham.
The Prince of Wales announced that he spent a day with 45 members of his family “all in the same room” in 2024.
But the guest list includes Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson; The former prince was exiled from the royal family and stripped of his titles due to his links to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Mountbatten-Windsor has made a lot of headlines recently following the latest release of the “Epstein files”. He vehemently denies any wrongdoing.
The royal family usually walks to church on Christmas morning and enjoys a traditional roast turkey with all the trimmings before sitting down to watch the King’s Christmas broadcast on television.
In 2024, Charles used his Christmas address to pay tribute to the “selfless” doctors and nurses who provided him and the Princess of Wales with “strength, care and comfort” during their cancer treatment.
The Christmas Day celebrations follow the broadcast of the Princess of Wales and Princess Charlotte’s pre-recorded Christmas piano duet.
Mother and daughter teamed up to play a piece they know well by Scottish composer Erland Cooper at Kate’s Christmas carol concert.
Kate and Charlotte’s piano performance was for the Together at Christmas concert at Westminster Abbey on December 5, and was not featured at the live event as it was pre-recorded last week – but was broadcast as part of the service’s ITV1 showcase on Christmas Eve.
The Welsh are spending the festive season together but will visit the Norfolk royal residence on Christmas Day.
The family of five experienced a big change just a few weeks ago when they moved into their eight-bedroom “forever home”, Forest Lodge, in Windsor Great Park.
The change is seen as a fresh start for the Welsh following Kate’s recovery from cancer, which was announced at the start of 2025, with William describing 2024 as “brutal”.
