OneSchool software glitch locks out students, teachers
A second bug in as many months has hit the Queensland Department of Education, this time sending students and teachers off their schedules hours before classes were due to start for the second term on Monday.
OneSchool, the software package used to manage Administrative, teacher and student resources for all state schools in Queensland He was unavailable for several hours on Monday morning and teachers were officially notified about this at around 7am.
The problem was resolved around 8am, but there was little time left for schools to open their doors after the April holidays.
Because the system was not accessible, teachers were unable to complete student schedules or update course schedules.
Seven weeks ago, another technology glitch left teachers without attendance software and prevented them from accessing classroom materials.
At the time, the ministry did not say how many schools were affected and said the problem was “intermittent” and affected individual staff.
The problem was resolved at 15:00 on the same day.
The ministry said there was a problem with online security software but maintained there was no security breach.
