Orange County schools consider closures due to declining enrollment
Orange County Public School officials think of the closing of school due to the decrease in records, as some schools work below 40% capacity.
Melissa Byrd, a member of the board of directors, said the region started the first talks on addressing the problem of less used schools.
These discussions include the potentially closure of some campuses and school consolidations, but no final decision has been taken yet.

“Some schools are currently less than 40 percent,” said Melissa Byrd, Member of the School Board of Directors.
Regional officials, emphasizing that the discussions are still in the first stages, made it early to determine which schools can face closing or consolidations.
The decreasing registration of the region has led to the investigation of different strategies to optimize resources and to guarantee high quality education for students.
