Order to register FIR in K.N. Nehru cash-for-jobs case has errors, Tamil Nadu govt. tells Madras High Court

tamil nadu The government told the Madras High Court in its order dated February 20, 2026, directing the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) to register a First Information Report (FIR) on Minister KN Nehru’s allegations of cash for work in the Municipal Administration and Water Supply department, that there were errors visible in the records.

In the review petition filed before First Division Chief Justice Sushrut Arvind Dharmadhikari and Justice G. Arul Murugan, the government said: “There are certain legal deficiencies in the order dated February 20, 2026, which are contrary to established principles of law and statutory provisions under the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita and Prevention of Corruption Act (PCA), 1988.”
