This means the Big Ten will get three teams in the College Football Playoff.
Lanning told reporters: “I guess the proof is in the pudding.” via ESPN. “We can beat you in many ways, right? We can outplay you sometimes, right? We can keep you in the 18-16-(point) type of game, we can win in tough environments, in all weather conditions, let’s put the ball on the floor, let’s play football. That’s the kind of team we have.”
Lanning also noted the difficulty of the team’s schedule, comparing it to some SEC schools. Oregon will face the Washington Huskies to finish the year.

Ducks quarterback Dante Moore was 22-of-30 with 257 passing yards, two touchdown passes and an interception in the win. Oregon was ahead 28-14 against USC at halftime.
“At the end of the day, I kept telling the team this was going to be an emotional game because it was senior night, but at the same time you can’t let emotions take over because with emotions comes negativity. So a lot happened in this game,” Moore said. “But I feel like we pushed ourselves from Monday to Friday to get the result we wanted.”
USC head coach Lincoln Riley lamented the team’s struggles as its College Football Playoff hopes were dashed.

“We were disappointed, we didn’t play our best. We had some penalties that we didn’t take and they definitely hurt us,” Riley said. “We were brave, we made a lot of plays, but in the end we were just a few plays short.”
