According to the bombshell Senate report, the Biden administration is allegedly pressuring US airports to accommodate immigrants despite warnings that it could compromise security and put passengers at risk.
The 47-page “Flight Risk” document released by the Senate Commerce Committee alleges that the White House directed the Department of Transportation (DOT), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Federal Transit Administration (FTA) to find airport facilities for shelters or processing centers for immigrants.
According to the report, the administration directed the DOT and FAA to “take inventory of existing facilities” at both federal and local airports and “direct federal resources to support immigrant arrivals.”

Internal emails cited in the report show concern among staff. On October 6, 2023, an FAA official wrote to Massport:
“We have received a request from WH to determine whether there are facilities available at the airport or surrounding areas… This is an urgent request, so please prioritize this effort.”
Another DOT employee responded candidly: “Yes, this is definitely Fox News’ work-in-progress.”
The committee found that at least 11 airports, including Boston Logan, Chicago O’Hare and New York’s JFK, were asked or even pressured to house immigrants in terminals, hangars or auxiliary buildings.

FAA officials acknowledged that such use would generally need federal approval under grant assurance rules, according to the report.
Instead, “while airports used their facilities to house aliens, they often ignored them,” according to the report.
Massport, which operates Boston Logan, warned its federal counterparts: “We are not designed or resourced to manage immigrant population intake…this will lead to a number of unintended safety and security consequences.”
Despite this warning, the report notes that Logan hosted up to 352 immigrants overnight at Terminal E and spent $779,000 on security, cleaning and transportation.

At Chicago’s O’Hare Airport, some 900 immigrants were housed in a shuttle terminal.
The report states that between April 2023 and February 2024, police recorded 329 police calls and 26 arrests, including investigations of theft, disorderly conduct and death.

Beyond airports, DOT and its subsidiaries were allegedly directed to assist with other immigrant support operations.
The report says FMCSA was told to help prepare a “Know Your Rights” brochure for bus passengers and to coordinate with states that monitor bus companies transporting immigrants.
FTA is “encouraged to remind local transportation agencies that federal grants may be used to transport immigrants.”

The committee concluded that these directives reflected a “dangerous diversion” of federal transportation resources.
“The Biden-Harris administration has made airports and aviation less safe by permitting and encouraging the harboring of aliens at U.S. airports, allowing improperly vetted aliens to fly into and across the United States, and diverting required federal air marshals to the border,” the report said.
“This report reveals how the Biden Department of Transportation conspired with local leaders in New York, Boston and Chicago to house immigrants at airport facilities at taxpayer expense,” Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), chairman of the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee, said in a statement to Fox News Digital.
