Over 100 MPs have signed notice to bring motion against Justice Varma in Parliament, says Kiren Rijiju

Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said that more than 100 deputies on Sunday, July 20, 2025, signed a notification to pass the necessary support threshold to deposit the objection exercise in Lok Sabha in Parliament to remove the Justice Yashwant Arrival.
“Signature (exercise) continues and already exceeded 100.”

For the abolition of a judge, a movement must be signed in Lok Sabha and not less than 50 in Rajya Sabha. It is likely to bring the movement to the lower house.
With the monument session, which began on Monday, July 21, 2025, the government said that the government would bring the movement during this session and will receive support from different parties, including the opposition, against “corruption in judiciary”.
Rijiju said, “I can’t comment on any job in terms of priority, because it is hard to make an announcement outside until it is transmitted with the approval of the head chair,” Rijiju said when the movement would be brought in the first week of the session.
He said it before PTI that all political parties are with the movement of Removal.
“Corruption in the judiciary is extremely sensitive and serious, because the judiciary is the place where people take justice. If there is corruption in the judiciary, this is a serious source of concern for everyone. He said.
After a fire incident in the facilities in March, a large burned currencies were discovered by the emergency service providers in the home of Delhi Supreme Court Justice Varma. The three Supreme Court Judges committee appointed by Sanjeev Khanna, India’s chief justice, accused him.

Former CJI Khanna directed the issue to President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi and proposed to abolish Varma after refusing to resign.
He then protested his innocence, which was sent back to the Supreme Court of Allahabad and excluded from the judicial works, protesting his innocence and activated the Apex court against the findings of the committee.
