Over one crore saplings planted to celebrate PM’s birthday: Odisha CM Majhi

On Wednesday, September 17, 2025, the Mohan Majhi government claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had erected more than one Crore tree in a single day to celebrate his birthday.

The Odisha government mobilized all the calligraphers, including the Education Institutes in the state, to plant trees. In the afternoon, the state government said in a statement, the number of saplings planted throughout the state passed a crore, he said.

Wednesday (September 17, 2025), approximately 15 lakh students from 40,000 high and higher secondary schools, 1 lacch students from 1,000 colleges, 2 lakh teachers, 76,000 Anganwadi workers, environmental development committees, 17,000 ASHA workers, 16,500 Mai Bharat Volunteer and 10,000 Eco-Branch participated in the period.
