Pakistan: Jaffar Express Attacked In Balochistan; Multiple Coaches Derailed, Several Injured | World News

The passenger train to Quetta was attacked on Tuesday as a result of the explosion of explosives placed on rails near the Sindh-Belucistan border near the Sindh-Belucistan border. After the explosion, many wagons of the train came out of the rail, the first rescue operations confirmed numerous injuries. The full dimension of loss and damage is still being evaluated.

Security forces and rescue teams came to the scene to provide help. Authorities are investigating the origin of the attack and the reason behind the targeting of the train.

Repeated attacks increase safety concerns

Cafer Express has repeatedly faced attacks in Belucistan in recent months, emphasizing ongoing security concerns. In August 2025, an IED explosion in the Mastung region removed the same train from the rail, caused a few passengers to be slightly injured, and the train service was temporarily stopped.

At least 12 people, including women and children, were injured in September 2025 as a result of the bombing of the Jaffar Express in Mastung’s Spizend region. According to the railway officials, the six boj of the train from Peshaver to Quetta came out of the rail, one was overturned. The incident occurred only 10 hours after another explosion in the same region.

The many times of the Cafer Express increased the concerns about passenger security and the vulnerability of Railway services that connect Belochistan to other parts of Pakistan. Authorities are under pressure to strengthen security measures throughout the route and prevent future attacks. Rescue and aid work on the last incident continued, the authorities launched an investigation to identify the responsible for the attack.
