Pakistan once again criticises Rajnath Singh’s remarks on Sindh province

Pakistan on Friday again criticized Defense Minister Rajnath Singh’s remarks on Sindh province becoming a part of India, saying his comments were “deeply disturbing”.

Speaking at an event hosted by the Sindhi community in New Delhi on Sunday, Singh said “borders may change” and “tomorrow Sindh may return to India”.

Pakistani Foreign Ministry spokesman Tahir Andrabi said the Indian defense minister’s statement was “deeply disturbing”.
“India should refrain from making such provocative statements,” he said at his weekly media briefing here.

Responding to a question about India’s failure to share data in connection with the Indus Water Treaty, Andrabi said India’s action was a matter of serious concern and a violation of the treaty.

Responding to another question, the spokesman said that the ceasefire between Pakistan and Afghanistan is not a traditional ceasefire reached after a conflict between them. “The Pakistan-Afghanistan ceasefire meant that there would be no terrorist attacks on Pakistan by Afghan-backed terrorist proxies.” Afghan citizens are using Afghan land.

“If Afghan citizens are attacking as is happening in Islamabad and elsewhere, Pakistan cannot be very optimistic about a ceasefire, which in any case is not the traditional ceasefire between the two states,” he said.

He also said Pakistan’s “military preparedness is robust” and any security challenge would be treated with the seriousness it deserves.
