In a fresh wave of violence, five militants from the drive-E-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) launched a coordinated attack on the Frontier Corps (FC) in Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The attack on Monday resulted in a long weapon war that left a Frontier Corps staff dead. Five militants attacked were killed in a fire change.

The Bannu attack serves to underline the increasing threat from its affiliated institutions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, unstable during the TTP and Afghan border. The attack is the last of a series of deadly attacks on security personnel in Pakistan. Over the last few months, the region has seen a series of major attacks, such as a suicide attack, which resulted in bombs by 16 military deaths and a Bajaur roadside bombs.
