PM Modi in Israel visits Yad Vashem, pays tribute to Holocaust victims

Prime Minister Modi was accompanied by his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu.
“Honouring the memory of the victims of the Holocaust and renewing our common resolve to preserve peace and human dignity. Prime Minister @narendramodi visited the World Holocaust Memorial Center Yad Vashem,” Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said in a post on channel X. he said.
Modi laid a wreath and paid tribute to the victims of the Holocaust. He also visited the poignant Hall of the Book of Names, a powerful monument that preserves the memory of the millions who died during the genocide.
“The monument stands as a sobering reminder of the atrocities of the past and our collective determination to stand against injustice and create a better world,” Jaiswal said. he said.
This was Prime Minister Modi’s second visit to Yad Vashem.
Established in 1953 by the decision of the Knesset (Israeli Parliament), Yad Vashem was tasked with Holocaust commemoration, documentation, research and education.
Modi arrived in Israel on Wednesday for a two-day visit. This is his second visit to Israel in nine years. The India-Israel relationship was upgraded to the level of strategic partnership during his first visit to this country in July 2017.
