Palaniswami to review AIADMK’s performance in seven districts

AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami will review the party’s performance in the Assembly elections in eight districts on July 15, 16 and 18. These districts (Erode, Tiruvallur, Theni, Pudukottai, Cuddalore, Karur, Niligirs and Virudhunagar) cover 51 Assembly constituencies. According to the statement, the examination will be held at the party headquarters in Chennai. The lot remained vacant in Virudhunagar, Theni and Nilgiris districts. It won in only nine constituencies out of 51 seats. Even in nine seats, the winners in Karur, Perundurai and Viralimalai had quit their posts and joined the ruling Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK). In Cuddalore district, where the party won three seats, Bhuvanagiri MP A. Arumozhithevan was among those who did not accept the new post given by Mr. Palaniswami after he was removed from his previous posts for opposing the party’s line of approach during the no-confidence motion in the Assembly two months ago.
